A True McDonald’s Horror Story

                     A True McDonald’s Horror Story

After spending a long hot day at work, (no air) I wanted to eat a nice fast meal with my daughter.  We decided to dine in at McDonald’s. Walking over to the new machine to place an order, my daughter pointed.         (I guess a long day at school deemed her too tired to say, “Mom, let’s order over here.”) With resolve I walked over and we placed and double checked our order. The total was $13.11.  I clicked the ‘done’ button and the machine requested I wait for my receipt order to print.  This is when the story goes downhill. I went over to a manager and explained that the machine never printed my order. He asked me if I have the app on my phone to show proof I placed the order. I told him no. He told me it’s okay as my order is on the machine behind him. I asked him for my receipt, he checked his register and asked if I ordered the 2 cheeseburgers. I told him no and gave him my order, he told me to have a seat. Fifteen minutes went by and I went to the manager again and he motioned for a young female employee to assist me. Another older male manager walked up, I explained what happened, gave them my order and she added my order to the register. The girl then commented, “This order doesn’t add up to $13.11. I shook my head in disbelief because I know that is what the total had issued on the machine. The older manager went to the machine behind the registers and began looking for my order. When he came up to my order I said “that’s it,” and the girl said I know that’s the same what you ordered but that’s someone else’s order because it has 2 orders of tea.” I didn’t see 2 orders of tea on that order but I let it go, because I wear glasses and maybe just maybe the teas were on that order. (In retrospect I believe that was my order.) The manager, who ignored me, asked me for my receipt. I lost it then I started yelling, “You know I don’t have a receipt I told you that from the beginning.” He asked me why was I yelling? I told him I’m upset of how I’m being treated. He told the girl to give me a partial order. I said I wanted my full order. He then shouted “You’re getting free food!” He shouted this several times. “I shouted back it’s not free I paid $13.11 for my meal. They refused to give me my full meal as a young male employee handed me a bag of food. The manger said once again I was getting free food. I looked in the bag and guess what? I had to ask for my daughter’s medium fries, they refused to give me a cup for her drink. A girl name Hailey was kind enough to give me the fries. Upon the request of my daughter, we left with a partial meal because she said I was embarrassing her. I get home and checked my credit card purchases on my tablet.

                           VINDICATION!
The tablet showed a McDonald’s purchase on 9/22/2017 of $13.11.
Needless to say I returned with the proof. The manager who kept yelling that I was getting free food said, “Okay what else did you order.” He never apologized and had an attitude that I had returned.
The soda I took home to my daughter tasted horrible. It had absolutely no sprite in it just seltzer. I was done. I wasn’t going back again that day, McDonalds had won.
Later that night after 11:00pm I ate the cookies and realized I had 4 instead of the usual three cookies. I know I should have been happy about the extra cookie but I wasn’t.
This next statement is going to shock some of you. My son Austin is a manager at that same McDonalds. I spoke with my son this this morning about the issue. He told me that the manager’s name is Efraim and I just should have told Efraim that ‘I’m Austin’s mom’. I totally disagree. I never should have been treated that way in the first place. I was a paying customer and…Should I dare say it? This time the customer really was right.
I’m telling my story in the hopes that McDonalds train their employees better. I feel that Efraim, the older manager, and the young female employee saw my order on that screen and knew that I was correct, but they wanted to save face.

What say you?
