Chapter One page 7

Autumn Provides

A year had passed whereas Autumn now called Blaze ‘Mother’. Unfortunately her relationship with Matthew was still estranged. Autumn was watching her mother prepare their breakfast when she began to reminisce.
Recalling the day, six months ago, how she and her father watched as Blaze commanded a fire ball to break off and fetch wood from the forest. Obeying, the fireball resembled a dog panting as it waited for the next command. “Become the master wood carver.”  The fireball cut, carved, designed, and coated a glazed finish, of 12 magnificent pieces of various sizes of wooden frames.
Father and daughter both awestruck, impatiently anticipated her reasons for creating the frames. Leaving the small living area, Blaze entered Autumn’s bedroom, Her father gave her a puzzled look. What seemed like forever, really took only minutes. Blaze emerged holding all eleven of Autumn’s art work. Her heart started pounding afraid of her father’s reaction to her artwork. She turned and saw her father’s eyes showed first annoyance than admiration. Autumn noticed her father’s eyes fill with water and she breathed out a quick sigh. Matthew never knew his daughter had such talent. Matthew’s gazed at Autumn and he saw his daughter again for the first time in two years.

Six of the portraits were of her father in various settings and the other five were made of the town’s store and owner, Mrs. Allister and her colossal home, the quaint church, the beautiful garden her mother had planted, and the picture of a man, from her own imagination, standing in a meadow waving. Looking at the art she realized that Blaze had made 12 frames. “Mother why did you make 12 frames?”  “I have my reasons child, all will reveal itself in due time.” “What does that mean?” Asked a confused Autumn. “You will know when the time is right.”  “It’s clear Mom is not going to give me the information.” Autumn thought. “Alright I get it mother, I’ll drop the issue.”

She decided to draw a forbidden picture.
